About Us
About Paramedic Billing Services, Inc.
Paramedic Billing Services, Inc. (PBS) was founded in 1990 to meet the needs of municipal and fire protection district clients seeking expert EMS billing services. PBS is physically located within the same Accounts Receivable division of Superior, having the advantage of shared knowledge, technology, and resources.
Through our state-of-the-art technology and over half of a century in the EMS industry, we have developed several innovative concepts and processes to maximize our client’s level of reimbursement while minimizing their time spent preparing EMS reports for billing.
PBS works with each client individually to identify areas to innovate that are beneficial to the client.
Continuing Client Education and Training
PBS provides various types and means of continuing client education and training.
- Client training of specific software or process procedures can be done on-site or via remote webinar formats.
- We also provide annual seminars to our clients to inform them of any changes in Medicare, legislation, and overall industry changes.
- These seminars are primarily performed by the premier law firm, Werfel & Werfel, PLLC, for the AAA Ambulance Association.
- Our seminars are tailored around the various changes in the EMS industry.
About Our Staff
PBS has 35 dedicated employees who specialize in emergency transport billing of municipalities and fire protection districts. Several of these employees are Certified EMT Paramedics, while all our coders are Certified Ambulance Coders (CAC) through the National Academy of Ambulance Coding.Â
Of our highly trained EMS billing personnel, we typically only see a 1% turnover rate. PBS has several divisions which handle various billing activities such as processing claim denials. PBS has written procedures for each step of the billing process, which all staff are trained on. We perform regular reporting and phone monitoring to maintain high performance, quality assurance and compliance with company standards.
PBS prides itself on providing the highest level of customer service, not only to its clients but the patients they transport.Â
